This program offers research- and practice-oriented education in evidence-based analysis and solving complex challenges in the field of Public Health.

Public Health is an independent, highly interdisciplinary, empirical science. The focus is not on the health of individuals, but on the health of a population. Research and teaching in public health deal with the conditions for health and the causes of disease.
This involves examining interactions between people and their natural, technical, and social environments, as well as strategies for promoting health and coping with illness. In addition, the performance of the healthcare system and ways of politically controlling and evaluating it and ensuring its quality are examined.

The Chair of Public Health and Health Services Research is located in the souterrain.
By public transportation
The chair can be reached by subway via the “Klinikum Großhadern” terminus on line U6. Take the rear exit in the direction of travel. The escalator will take you to a glass pavilion. With the glass pavilion behind you, turn right and walk down Heinz-Goerke-Street until you reach the Klinikum Großhadern Ost bus stop. There, turn right onto Elisabeth-Winterhalter-Weg and enter the building on the right-hand side.
By car
There are parking spaces directly in front of the institute building. Alternatively, you can use one of the numerous parking spaces at the hospital.

By public transportation
Take the U6 subway line to the final stop, “Klinikum Großhadern”. From the main entrance of the Clinic, take the escalator to the first floor (‘Besucherstraße’). Follow the Besucherstraße straight ahead to the end of the hallway to the last door on the right (marked “Kursräume, Hörsäle”).
By car
Coming from the city center, turn right from Sauerbruchstraße onto Marchioninistraße to enter the hospital grounds. Before the main gate (on the right-hand side), turn right into the visitor parking lot.
From the visitor parking lot, walk along Marchioninistraße for about 500 m parallel to the main building, past the green emergency room building. After the emergency room building, you will find the entrance to the lecture hall wing on the left-hand side of the street (marked with a blue sign saying “Hörsäle”). After entering the building, go straight ahead to the 1st floor to Hörsaal I.
